Inpatient Care Unit

When hospitalization is required, the Children's Services Department patients are cared for in JFK Medical Center’s 22-bed inpatient pediatric unit, which includes a designated Special Care Unit for critically ill children. Children are nurtured in a soothing, family-focused atmosphere that fosters exceptional standards of quality care. The unit is directed by a board-certified pediatric intensivist and staffed by physicians and nurses who are trained and experienced in treating young patients with neurological problems and those recovering from surgery. Additionally, the unit is among the most “wired” in New Jersey, equipped with computerized charting and medication management systems that maximize patient safety.
